It is also water resistant and sheds moisture fast helping to prevent mildew and a water logged flag that does not fly well.

Nylon thickness plays a role in durability, too thin and the flag may not last too thick and it may be too heavy to fly in light winds.The range of thicknesses are measured in a gradation used on textiles called denier, the weight of the material. 115D means 115 denier or 115 strands of silk equivalent.
